American Public University System names
new military management professor

Charles Town, W.Va., April 22, 2008 – American Public University System (APUS) has named John A. Coy, as an assistant  professor in the Military Management Department. Students in the military management program examine strategic planning, communications, and management topics specific to the military and the military-industrial complex. Coy will teach courses in leadership, management and military management. APUS is an online university system that serves more than 30,000 adult students living in all 50 states and more than 130 foreign countries.

Coy is a Major in the U.S. Air Force and is currently the chief of C-130 combat programs at Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. While stationed in Germany, Coy was selected as the U.S. Air Forces Europe officer aircrew member of the year for 2003 and 2004 and was the Airlift Tanker Association’s young leader of the year in 2005. Coy’s military awards include the Air Force Meritorious Service, Commendation, Achievement and Air Medals.

Coy holds a master’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. He is currently attending Command and General Staff College and pursuing a doctoral degree through Northcentral University.
