The Academic Services Department has created a Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment to serve as a University-wide resource to all APUS faculty members. This mission of the Center is to: 1) improve student learning through teaching excellence, 2) provide support and resources for faculty to be scholarly, innovative and effective, and 3) continuously improving courses and programs through outcomes assessment.
The Center is in search of an Instructional Designer who will assist faculty in the design, development and delivery of online courses. The Instructional Designer will provide ongoing guidance and support to faculty in the continuous improvement of course design and maintenance. He/she will also identify and provide resources to improve/enhance curriculum, develop resource materials including self-help documents, online tutorials & other multimedia materials to assist faculty with improving student learning and teaching effectiveness.
As part of the Center’s development, we are in the process of creating a Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment website to:
Better equip faculty and students with the tools and resources needed to actively engage in teaching and learning.
Build a virtual teaching and learning community among our faculty and students.
Serve as a one-stop, 24/7 web source for resources and information on the many facets of teaching and learning online.
It is anticipated that the website will be up and running soon. We will keep you updated on the progress. For more information about the APUS Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment, please contact ctla@apus.edu.
