American Public University System Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment Mission

APUS seeks to develop in its students the skills, knowledge and abilities to engage in lifelong learning, academic skill, communication, information literacy, and critical thinking. In doing so, there is a strong commitment to high standards in all aspects of educational activities, learning outcomes, and support services. In support of quality and learning as core values of the institutional mission, a Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment has been developed.  The Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment serves as a University-wide resource to all APUS faculty members. This center will enhance student learning by raising the standard of teaching excellence at APUS. It will serve to better equip faculty and department chairs with the tools and resources needed to actively engage students in learning.
