Step #1

Review course objectives in syllabi to ensure best practices are followed

Review course objectives in syllabi to ensure best practices are followed:

Alignment of course content with course objective
Appropriateness of course outcomes with level of instruction and assignments – grad or undergrad – upper and lower level
Utilization of best practices – Bloom’s – syntax

Step #2

Post web-based template that instructs faculty how to revise course objectives

Develop paper/pencil and web-based template for faculty to revise course level objectives.  Template will take faculty through a process of writing course level objectives based on revised Bloom’s taxonomy and curriculum alignment (mapping). 

Step #3

Distribute resources to department chairs and faculty that demonstrate how to review, and revise if necessary degree program learning outcomes. 

** This process will utilize 1) curriculum mapping at ALL levels, and 2) student learning outcomes at all levels of the institution.
