Frederick Community College

It is the student's responsibility to alert APUS that s/he may fall under a current Articulation Agreement by emailing his/her Student ID and the name of the Articulation Agreement to articulations@apus.edu.

Eligibility:

Undergraduates must be pursuing one of the following programs at the University:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (General Program)
  • Bachelor of Science in Fire Science Management (No Concentration)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Emergency & Disaster Management (No Concentration)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (No Concentration)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Studies (No Concentration)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security (No Concentration)

Guidelines:

  • A student has met the terms of the agreement and is eligible for possible Transfer Credit Evaluation review if they completed the specific initial degree at Frederick CC AFTER the effective date of December 13, 2006 and they have not yet had an Initial TCE completed.
  • If an initial evaluation has already been prepared and the student completed the specific degree from Frederick CC AFTER November 27, 2007, they can send in the updated paperwork.  A TCE Update Request Form must also be submitted to initiate the review process.
  • If a student changes their degree program AFTER November 27, 2007, they are eligible for a review of their Frederick CC degree for possible transfer credit as long as the degree was completed at Frederick CC AFTER December 13, 2006.
  • If a student has already had an Initial TCE completed and their documentation has already been reviewed and no additional paperwork is to be submitted, they are NOT eligible for the agreement terms.

The student must have completed any one of the following Associates Degree programs at Frederick and must have achieved a grade of C or higher in each course.  A sealed official transcript must be sent in order to detail the degree conferral and in accordance to the terms of the agreement:

  • Associate of Arts & Science – Police Science (Career)
  • Associate of Arts – Criminal Justice
  • Associate of Arts – General Studies – Emergency Services/Fire Science Option
  • Associate of Arts & Science – Emergency Management (Career)
  • Associate of Arts – Business Administration
  • Associate of Arts – General Studies

Please note:

For those students who are not pursuing one of these programs or have taken a course outside the dates, we are required to follow course by course evaluations and the American Council on Education (ACE) recommendations for awarding transfer credit.  Credit must be evaluated by ACE and recommended for Undergraduate level credit in order to possibly apply towards a Undergraduate degree program at APUS.
