U.S. Marine Corps - Corporals Noncommissioned Officers Program (L9K)
It is the student's responsibility to alert APUS that s/he may fall under a current Internal Recommendation Policy by emailing his/her Student ID and the name of the Internal Recommendation to articulations@apus.edu.
Eligibility:
Undergraduate students must be pursuing the following program at the University (semester hour maximum):
- Any Undergraduate level degree program with Elective requirements (5 SH)
Guidelines:
- A student has met the terms of the agreement and is eligible for possible Transfer Credit Evaluation review if they completed the specific course through the U.S. Marine Corps and they have not yet had an Initial TCE completed.
- If an initial evaluation has already been prepared and the student completed the specific course through the U.S. Marine Corps after the initial transfer credit evaluation was completed, they can send in the updated paperwork. A TCE Update Request Form must also be submitted to initiate the review process.
- If a student changes their degree program, they are eligible for a review of their U.S. Marine Corps (SMARTS) transcript for possible transfer credit.
- If a student has already had an Initial TCE completed, their documentation has already been reviewed, and no additional paperwork is to be submitted, they are NOT eligible for transfer credit.
Students must send in a copy of their SMARTS transcript along with a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) Application. Transfer credit can be applied toward the Elective requirements of an undergraduate degree program for the following:
- Leadership (2 SH)
- Military Studies (3 SH)

This Internal Recommendation Policy is valid for listed programs which will be reviewed each Catalog year and credit recommendations may change if the programs or internal recommendation policies are altered and/or re-evaluated.
