U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School

It is the student's responsibility to alert APUS that s/he may fall under a current Articulation Agreement by emailing his/her Student ID and the name of the Articulation Agreement to articulations@apus.edu.

Eligibility:

Graduate students must be pursuing the following program at the University (semester hour maximum):

  • Any Graduate level degree (9 SH)

Students may maximize transfer credit from this Articulation by pursuing one of the following programs (semester hour maximum):

  • Master of Arts in Military Studies - any Concentration (9 SH)

Guidelines:

  • A student has met the terms of the agreement and is eligible for possible Transfer Credit Evaluation review if they completed the specific course through the U.S. Marine Corps and they have not yet had an Initial TCE completed.
  • If an initial evaluation has already been prepared and the student completed the specific course through the U.S. Marine Corps after the initial transfer credit evaluation was completed, they can send in the updated paperwork.  A TCE Update Request Form must also be submitted to initiate the review process.
  • If a student changes their degree program, they are eligible for a review of their U.S. Marine Corps transcript for possible transfer credit.
  • If a student has already had an Initial TCE completed and their documentation has already been reviewed and no additional paperwork is to be submitted, they are NOT eligible for transfer credit.

Students must send in a copy of their OFFICIAL transcript from the U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School along with a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) Application.  Transfer credit can be applied towards the following APUS courses depending on graduate degree program requirements only:

U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (Resident & Non-Resident)
 
MILS521 – Strategy, Tactics & the Operational Art
MGMT610 – Cross-Cultural Management
 
Choose one of the following:
 
INFO531 – Management Information Systems
MILS561 – Joint Warfare Planning and Implementation
 

Please Note:

For those students who are not pursuing one of these programs or have taken a course outside the dates, we are required to follow the American Council on Education (ACE) recommendations for awarding transfer credit.  Credit must be evaluated by ACE and recommended for Graduate level credit in order to possibly apply towards a Graduate degree program at APUS.

This Internal Recommendation Policy is valid for listed programs which will be reviewed each Catalog year and credit recommendations may change if the programs or internal recommendation policies are altered and/or re-evaluated.
