Life Experience
Currently, the university system cannot award graduate level credit for life experience or training that has not been evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE) and given recommendations for graduate level academic credit.
In order for an accredited institution of higher learning to evaluate life experience that has no ACE recommendations, it must have a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process in place. The university is actively working toward developing a graduate level PLA process to create a structured format for awarding graduate credit for prior life and work experience that has not been evaluated by ACE. When a graduate level PLA process has been developed and approved, a formal announcement will be made to our student body.
