- The University can accept undergraduate courses completed at nationally or regionally accredited institutions of higher learning with a final grade of C or higher towards the AA, BA/BS, and Certificate programs.
- Developmental or remedial courses do not transfer.
- Credits from institutions that operate on the quarter system are transferred by multiplying the quarter credit hours by 2/3 or by dividing the number of quarter hours by 1.5.
- Grades of Pass/Satisfactory at the Undergraduate level are acceptable as long as the credit is equivalent to above a C grade.
- Credit from community colleges is generally is considered to be lower level and is generally applicable only to freshman (100 level) and sophomore (200 level) requirements.
- Additional documentation may be required (e.g., course syllabi or descriptions) in order for the evaluation to be completed. If anything else is needed, we will contact you via email. (Please keep the email address in your student record current.)
- The amount of credit accepted for transfer depends on the student’s declared program of study, and whether the type of credit previously earned is determined to be equivalent to the requirements of the program. Learning outcomes and objectives for the transferred course must meet those of the AMU or APU course in your program.
- Students with on-the-job training that has not been evaluated by ACE should contact their Human Resources Office, Education Center, or Training Office to see if there are other avenues available to get that credit evaluated.
- Once our evaluators have received all official transcripts and documents, the decision will be made as to whether or not a course will transfer into an AMU or APU program. Additional documentation may be required (e.g., course syllabi or descriptions) in order for the evaluation to be completed. If anything else is needed, you will be contacted via email.
