Where is APUS located?

We are located everywhere there is Internet access – your home, your office, the local coffee shop, libraries and even in remote military posts in Iraq. 

Our professors work from around the world – California, Canada, Austria – where many hold teaching positions at other universities or are active professionals at the National Security Agency, United Nations, the U.S. military among others.

We have two administrative offices – our headquarters are in Charles Town, WV and supporting administrative offices are in Manassas, VA.

Where are APUS students from?

APUS serves members of the military and national security communities and other scholars in the public and private sectors. Our students study from locations in all 50 states as well as from more than 100 countries.

Approximately 85% of APUS students are active or reserve component military personnel. The civilian students include teachers, government employees, government contractors and law enforcement officials. Most APUS students are adult continuing education learners who hold full-time positions within their profession. Currently, there is an 80/20 ratio of male to female students, and the average student age is 31 years old.

What are the costs?

Tuition and Fees:  We do not want costs to get in the way of your education.  We have streamlined our tuition and fees to make it easy for you to estimate and cover any expenses.  For our many military students who use tuition assistance benefits, this often means no or minimal out-of-pocket costs.
