Welcome to the American Public University System’s Center for Cyber Defense (CCD) which is organized in the university's School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
The CCD is designed to be the hub for cybersecurity at APUS and beyond. It builds a network of faculty, students, staff, and administrators from the university's cyber-related programs, the STEM School, other disciplines, and from researchers and consultants outside of the university.
The mission of the CCD is to provide program guidance and oversight, general cyber defense information, and collaboration and outreach opportunities among students, faculty, and other institutions. The CCD serves as a portal for cyber defense education to create the next-generation cybersecurity workforce of professionals and leaders for the defense of our nation's citizens, industry, government, and academic institutions.
The National Security Agency (NSA) Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Program has validated that the American Public University System courseware meets all of the elements of the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) National Training Standards for Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professionals, NSTISSI No. 4011 and System Administrators (SA), CNSSI No. 4013 Entry Level.
