Our innovative online space studies program attracts individuals from a variety of professions including NASA, government agencies, general education, science, the intelligence community, and military sectors. A former NASA astronaut originally designed the curriculum and the APUS telescope is an important element of this online program that further sets our space studies program apart by providing an exceptional and hands-on research experience for students. Research
The APUS telescope is reserved exclusively for the use of APUS faculty and students. We have a wide variety of exciting research programs currently underway at the observatory, several of which include opportunities for student involvement. Examples of ongoing investigations with the telescope include observations of exoplanet transits, supernova searches, and variable star photometry.
