As a university, we firmly believe in celebrating and recognizing our outstanding students, alumni, and faculty for their dedication to service, education, and their professional field.
Annually, the university bestows the Outstanding Creativity and Innovation Award, the DETC Outstanding Graduate of the Year Award, the DETC Famous Alumni Award, the President’s Award, and the Outstanding Graduate and Undergraduate Student of the Year Award for each academic school. Awarded by our academics department, these awards are given to students and alumni that truly embody the spirit and caliber of each award.
Since 2011, additional awards have been established to honor our prestigious alumni. Four distinct awards recognize exceptional graduates and alumni members. Each award focuses on a specific type of achievement, as seen below.
Alumni Award Application Process
The application submission period for all 2012 alumni awards is now closed, but we are accepting applications for the 2013 alumni award program. If you are interested in applying for one of these prestigious awards, please submit the self-nomination form. If you are a member of the AMU or APU community and would like to nominate a fellow alum, please submit the nomination form allowing you to nominate someone else. We will notify those alumni who receive nominations and encourage them to complete the application.
Applications need to include an essay of no more than three double spaced pages and a letter of recommendation.
For the 2013 award, we must receive the completed packets by December 1, 2012. Upon a full screening process and approval by the selection committee, we will announce the award winners in March 2013. The 2012 Alumni Award recipients will be announced in June 2012!
