She also serves on the editorial advisory board for the new Indigenous Policy Journal. Dr. Campbell is the co-author of a global studies textbook with Wiley Blackwell that is due out in March of 2010.

Dr. Campbell has been keenly interested in the increasing focus on human security within the discipline of International Relations (IR), as it constitutes a paradigm shift away from IR's  traditional focus on security as a state-centered concept to one that foregrounds the security of individuals and communities. Rather than conceptualizing “security” solely as “national security,” this new focus looks at the ways that human rights, environmental degradation, migration, poverty, food scarcity, economic uncertainty, health, and personal security are inextricably linked to local and global stability. Scholars and practitioners alike are exploring the ways in which a lack of human security can drive violence and conflict. As someone whose research interests have focused on migration, human rights, gender, and democratization, this shift is very exciting.
