Synopsis of Role:
  • Manage Financial Services Team
  • Oversee a large military Tuition Assistance (TA) process
  • Supervise both the front end and back end of a growing Title IV financial aid process
  • Provide a monthly Reconciliation of Title IV Funds received
  • Manage Veterans Administration and alternative loan processes
  • Effectively research inquiries regarding student issues
Essential Functions:
  • Manage financial service specialists up to and including timesheet reviews, time off requests, performance reviews, training, and work-flow management
  • Reconciliation of Title IV funds and approval of releasing of funds to bank account for student accounts to process
  • Daily reporting to management of financial aid student processing utilizing third-party and institutional reports
  • Manage, review and process various forms of financial aid, including Federal Student Aid (Title IV), Veteran’s benefits, alternative loans, employer vouchers, and military tuition assistance
  • Partner with IT team on future releases and upgrades to current software and functionality
  • Work closely with third-party vendor on information process improvements related to Title IV; including resolution of issues, and meet weekly to discuss any pipeline issues
  • Act as liaison between Financial Services and third party vendors
  • Establish a working relationship with Compliance Director to ensure current and future processes meet regulatory standards
  • Handle escalated issues related to students, education offices, and employers telephonically and electronically regarding the financial aid application and award process, alternative loan options, and military educational benefits to include TA and VA
  • Perform research on approval status of all financial aid types
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and as a team on financial services projects with IT, Admissions and other departments
  • Provide recommended actions to upper management on current and future processes and issues
  • Interact with other departments to achieve daily goals
  • Special projects as assigned
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master’s Degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution; AND
  • Minimum two to three years full-time or part-time equivalent experience in financial aid/finance including management/supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated basic accounting skills and business office experience
  • Supererior oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient experience with Windows based applications (specifically Excel and Access)
Competencies Critical to this Position:
  • Must have experience working with a Title IV company
