Synopsis of Role:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical clerical support services to prepare documents and files for scanning for digitization project.  This position is temporary and will require full-time hours over the summer months.

Essential Functions:
  • Removal of staples.
  • Repair of torn pages.
  • Categorization.
  • Proper sequencing,
  • Packing and lifting banker boxes containing files.
  • Other responsibilities required for the scanning process as assigned.

  • Open to feedback from coworkers and supervisors.
  • Must be highly organized, able to multitask and require little supervision.

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Prior office experience required.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Prior academic administration experience preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Able to work in a general office environment.
  • Occasional moving of files and/or boxes weighing 30 – 40 pounds.
  • Occassional overtime work required.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Ability to learn from supervisor and co-workers and apply procedures using good judgment.
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team.

  • Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling and/or action/discipline.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time; perform repetitious duties (i.e. removing files, alphabetizing, removing staples).
  • Must be able to carry min. 30 Lbs.
