Synopsis of Role:
The Associate Student Advisor (ASA) serves as a knowledgeable resource for students regarding basic academic advising process and policy. The ASA supports Advisors as aligned by discipline. The ASA fosters and promotes students’ academic progress and encourages retention by working on projects and basic advising needs as initiated by the Director and Mangers of the Student Advising team.
Essential Functions:
- Initiate work load and work flow for Advisors by monitoring program change assignment and the general e-mail box.
- Respond to basic advising emails sent to the department mailbox.
- Address phone and e-mail escalations from the Student Support team.
- Process program change requests for specific students.
- Maintain advising support tools including Internet and intranet resources.
- Review all newly readmitted students’ academic plans for correct course placement.
- Review and process weekly course registration verifications.
- Support the advising needs of the assigned academic school.
- Manage projects for the academic school as directed by the Team Manager.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree or equivalent required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Standard office environment.
- May be required to work non-traditional hours, which may include weekend or after regular business hours, with advanced notice.
