Financial Services Specialist

Essential Functions:
- Review and process various forms of financial aid including Federal financial aid (Title IV); Veteran’s benefits; alternative loans; employer vouchers; and military tuition assistance.
- Certification of VA Benefits on VA Once.
- Assist students, education offices, and employers regarding the financial aid application and award process, alternative loan options, and military educational benefits.
- Retrieve and process tuition assistance forms electronically.
- Maintain communication with virtual financial aid office.
- Perform research on approval status of all financial aid types.
- Grant course access upon receipt of approved financial aid documentation.
- Provide suggestions of actions to team lead on processes and issues.
- Interact with other departments to achieve daily goals.
- Special projects as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- Two years experience in accounting/finance, preferably in collections desired.
- Basic accounting skills and business office experience, including accounts receivable maintenance.
- Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Windows based applications (specifically Excel).
