Synopsis of Role:
Integrate, test, evaluate, and modify courseware and learning materials for new and existing online courseware into Learning Management System.
Essential Functions:
- Integrate course content into the Learning Management System so that it may be delivered effectively to students in a consistent manner utilizing an established integration process.
- Test, evaluate, and conduct a detailed analysis of classes in preparation for delivery utilizing an established process; provide options to resolve issues; make changes based on issue resolution feedback in a timely manner.
- Understand the basic concepts of converting text-based courseware using HTML and CSS.
- Manage time and assigned projects so that deadlines are met.
- Document time spent in areas of responsibility for analysis and future planning.
Critical Skills and Job Complexity:
- Must be proficient in the use of computers and office automation.
- Must have a sufficient skill set to learn how to use a Learning Management System quickly.
- Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a geographically-dispersed team to accomplish assigned tasks while meeting deadlines and deliverables.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and accurately with multiple groups and departments to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Must be knowledgeable in online education.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 1-2+ years of hands-on experience integrating e-Learning/online courseware.
- Proficiency and competency in HTML, CSS, Microsoft Office, and sufficient comfort level to learn and utilize Web 2.0 technologies as required.
- Experience with an online Learning Management System desired.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Multimedia or related field desired.
- Demonstrated success in effectively managing time and meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with project management processes and tools.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Standard office environment in Charles Town, WV.
- Physical demands include walking, sitting, and climbing stairs.
- Some telecommuting work may be performed, as negotiated with supervisor.
- Work requires access to the Internet at all times, including when off-site.
- Minimal travel may be required.
