Synopsis of Role:
The Student Advising Training Coordinator supports the department by working closely with the Advising Training and QA Senior Manager and the Advising Training and Professional Development Manager to research, organize, develop, and facilitate various training and professional development opportunities for the Student Advising department.
Essential Functions:
- Establish and maintain organizational systems for new and continuing training programs.
- Assist in the creation, development, organization, and implementation of new and continued training programs and professional development opportunities for the Student Advising department.
- Research, develop, and implement potential professional development opportunities for ongoing training.
- Assist in the assessment of current training programs and initiatives.
- Serve as point of contact for miscellaneous training issues, questions, and activities.
- Maintain updated training schedule information to include conference room reservations, meeting requests, IT requirements for various training sessions, and track changes to daily training schedules and plans.
- Organize and update all manuals, guidebooks, and training tools used by and for the department.
- Stay abreast of industry knowledge at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Critical Skills and Job Complexity:
- Strong Word, Excel, Access, Outlook skills (specifically experience creating and editing spreadsheets with formulas and manipulating data within reports to extract pertinent information).
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to multitask, requiring little supervision.
- Creative problem solving skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree required
- Experience with corporate training, teaching, and/or professional development preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Standard office environment in Manassas, VA.
- Ability to telecommute when necessary/approved.
