Pay Per Click Marketing Coordinator

Synopsis of Role:
Responsible for assisting with the management of a comprehensive pay-per-click program including over 5,000 keywords; researching and recommending new keywords and negative keywords; creating advertising copy; submitting ads; reporting results; managing a content network strategy; and optimizing campaigns.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the management of our PPC networks, such as Google, MSN, Yahoo.
- Continually evaluate and adjust campaign bids to maximize ROI.
- Research and recommend new keywords and negative keywords.
- Write and review ad copy and execute campaigns.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute new paid campaigns, including writing and reviewing ad copy.
- Track and report campaign results, assist with establishing benchmarks and recommending campaign and site content adjustments.
- Execute and report results for A/B testing for campaigns and landing pages.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Critical Skills and Job Complexity:
- Advanced usage of Google AdWords, Yahoo PPC and MSN PPC.
- Experience with Google Analytics (or similar) reporting software.
- Understanding of Web site design and usability principles; and Internet marketing concepts, practices, standards, and regulations.
- Familiarity with natural search result rankings versus paid campaigns.
- Knowledge of principles for writing online content and strong grammatical skills.
- Budget management of more than $100,000 (annually).
- Ability to analyze data for trends, anomalies and patterns and make sound recommendations for adjusting campaigns in response to these.
- Strong computer skills, including intermediate Excel skills.
- SEO best-practices.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Information Systems required.
- 2-3 years experience managing PPC campaigns.
- Demonstrated professional (non-academic) experience with managing marketing initiatives on the Web, such as PPC, SEO, analytics, and writing for the Web and/or usage of a Content Management System.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Standard office environment in Manassas, VA.
- This full-time position will require five days a week in the office, with little to no travel outside of the metro region.
