Synopsis of Role:
Provides font line support for financial aid, veteran's benefits, and tuition assistance processing.
Essential Functions:
- Advise students on various forms of financial aid including federal financial aid (Title IV), veteran’s benefits, alternative loans, scholarships, employer vouchers, military tuition assistance and other payment options.
- Review documents for federal financial aid, veteran’s benefits, and military tuition assistance and assisting students with corrections.
- Assist students, education offices, and employers on the telephone and via e-mail regarding the financial aid application and award process, alternative loan options, and military educational benefits.
- Monitor and assist students with virtual financial aid office progression.
- Perform research on approval status of all financial aid types.
- Assist Financial Aid Services specialists with processing.
- Reach out to students via telephone or e-mail to provide updates or request information in relation to financial aid processing.
- Identify and escalate reoccurring student issues to supervisor.
- Interact with other departments to achieve daily goals.
- Work with student files for the three functional units of FSA, VA and TA.
- Special projects as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Two years experience in financial aid, veteran's benefits or tuition assistance, customer service or call center fields, or related customer satisfaction focused areas required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Windows based applications (specifically Excel and Word).
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Standard office environment in Charles Town, WV.
