Synopsis of Role:
Build and manage the resume review process and program. Manage student requests for internship opportunities, federal student programs and letters of recommendation. Promote professional programs and services to increase exposure of services offered. Track program progress and how our services affect retention rates.
Essential Functions:
- Acts as immediate supervisor for members of the Student & Alumni Affairs Professional Development team to include: organization of time off requests, workload assistance, progress review, coaching for results, and student escalations.
- Participates in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process for Student & Alumni Affairs positions.
- Ensures SOP’s and policies are continuously evaluated and updated by team members.
- Assists with the organization of team meeting agendas. Act as facilitator for regularly scheduled team meetings.
- Provides workload support in the absence of a Student Affairs & Alumni Relations team member.
- Reviews all recommendations and official agreements to ensure they abide by University standards.
- Acts as a main point of contact for researching student escalations. Presents proposal for resolution to Senior Manager when appropriate.
- Manages the resume review program.
- Assists with the preparation and implementation of the annual commencement ceremony and involvement based events.
- Assists Senior Manager with special projects as needed to grow and develop the Student & Alumni Affairs team.
- Remains current on industry standards and makes recommendations to keep APUS current.
- Develops and implements a system for tracking the effects of our professional development programs on retention rates.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience in a University or education based setting and career services knowledge preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Standard office environment in Manassas, VA.
- May be required to work non-traditional hours which may include weekend or after regular business hours.
- Ability to telecommute as required.
