Mr. Frank Ball - Chair, Board of Trustees

Mr. Frank BallIn his first career, Frank Ball was an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps for over 20 years. His Vietnam service was with the Amphibious Ready Group of the 7th Fleet and his final assignment was as Chief Instructor and Faculty Dean of the U.S. Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School. From 1985-89, he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Marine Corps Gazette.

Mr. Ball spent his second career at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) where he held a number of senior assignments within the Office of Training and Education. In his final position at that agency, he was the chief of all Management Training and Executive Development at that  Agency.

After leaving the CIA, Mr. Ball established his own consulting and executive coaching business, which he has successfully run for the past fifteen years.  Concurrent with his other professional work, he has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Virginia, Georgetown University, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Graduate School.  He is currently a faculty member at Georgetown University.

During 2002 and 2003, Mr. Ball was successively Vice President for Student Services and then Vice President for Programs and Marketing at the American Public University System.

Mr. Ball received a B.A. degree in Economics from Davidson College, an M.S. degree in Business Financial Management from The George Washington University, and a certificate in Organization Development from Georgetown University. He has been designated a Master Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation and is a Certified Junior College Instructor (Business Management) in the state of California. In addition to his membership on the American Public University System Board of Trustees, he is a former board member of the DC Metro Chapter of the International Coach Federation.  Previously, he has been a board member of the Marine Executives Association.
