10/29/09 - APUS wins the Sloan Consortium's 2009 Ralph E. Gomory Award for Quality Online Education
American Public University System is the winner of the 2009 Ralph E. Gomory Award for Quality Online Education, which is presented annually by the Sloan Consortium. We are being recognized for our commitment to excellence and values in online education. Read the award press releases here.

10/29/09 - The International Association of Emergency Manager's Student Association (IEMSA) was selected by the International Association of Emergency Manager as the 2009 recipient of the IAEM Student Council Chapter of the Year. IAEM also announced that the APUS Emergency and Disaster Management Program was selected to recieve the  Academic Program Award. Presentation of both awards will occur on Wednesday, November 4, during the IAEM Conference in Orlando. The IAEM-USA Student Region also selected three APUS students to hold offices - sweeping the top spots. Dorian Young will serve as president, Michael Kelley will serve as 1st vice president and Jeannine "Jet" Holt will serve as secretary. For more information on IAEM go to www.iaem.com.
