APUS Announces M.A. Degree Program in Psychology
Classes Begin January 2011; Enrollment in September 2010
Charles Town, W.Va., July 15, 2010 – American Public University (APU) and American Military University (AMU), member institutions of the American Public University System (APUS), will begin enrolling students as of September 1, 2010, in a new Master of Arts in Psychology Degree Program, with classes scheduled to begin in January 2011.
The 39 credit-hour program is designed to enhance the development of knowledge, skills and abilities valuable to professionals in a range of fields, including the behavioral sciences, criminal justice, education and social services. Courses will cover such topics as research methods, psychological testing and diagnostics, social and multicultural issues, psychopathology, crisis and emergency intervention, and professional ethics, among others. While the program will not qualify graduates to apply for clinical practice licensure or certification, it will help prepare students who wish to pursue doctoral studies in psychology by grounding them in theory and practice-knowledge related to general psychology.
