American Public University System Announces Launch of NSSA Internet Radio

American Military University Radio Founder Dr. Larry Flegle to Direct Programming

Charles Town, W.Va., July 30, 2010 – American Public University System (APUS) has announced the launch of NSSA Internet Radio. Under the guiding hand of American Military University (AMU) Professor of Sports Management and AMU Radio Founder Dr. Larry Flegle, the new station enables National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) members to showcase their on-air skills and features historical recordings all the way back to inaugural NSSA Hall of Famer Grantland Rice.

"We hope that NSSA Radio will provide an archive of quality sportscasting and that fans will be able to experience broadcasters -- both current and former -- that they normally would not be able to hear," said Flegle.

AMU Radio is a dedicated, 24x7 streaming radio station for American Military University, an APUS member institution. The award-winning station combines adult contemporary music and scheduled programming such as “This Week in Sports,” produced and aired by students in the Sports Management program. Students, alumni, and faculty are also invited to submit interview topics or subjects, and original programming ideas.

"We are excited to add another benefit for our NSSA members," said NSSA Executive Director Dave Goren. "I sincerely hope our members -- both professional and student -- will take full advantage of this opportunity."
