American Public University to Present on Indispensable Leadership at the Chief Learning Officer Symposium
Charles Town, WV – March 28, 2011 –American Public University (APU) School of Management Professor Leslie Weatherly will present on developing leadership skills during a recovering global economy at the Chief Learning Officer Symposium, March 29, 2011 at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Fla.
In the “Repositioning: Time Waits for No One” workshop, Weatherly will explore how human resources (HR), talent and learning development professionals can emerge as leaders during a time of national economic and job market transformation. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to gain innovative skills to strategically reposition themselves for career growth within their organizations.
“Many organizations did not realize that the economic downturn was a reality until we were in the midst of a recession,” says Weatherly. “As a result, there was a paradigm shift in the world of work. Today, organizations strive to hire the best talent with multiple skill sets. Although the job market is improving, the slow recovery is prompting many professionals to gain and develop multiple skills to compete in today’s improving economy.”
