APUS Announces New Leadership Appointments
Charles Town, W. Va., January 21, 2014—American Public University System (APUS) today announced several leadership appointments in support of the University’s academic governance and corporate citizenship.
Dr. Patricia Campbell of Claremont, Calif. was named vice president and dean of graduate studies. Campbell has been with the University since 2008 and chairs both the Institutional Review Board and the Internal Research Review Board.
Dr. John Hough of Leesburg, Va. was named vice president of community relations, providing oversight and management of the university’s strategic community relations and outreach in West Virginia and Virginia as well as corporate charitable giving activities. Hough joined the university in September 2008 and since 2010 has served as vice president of community college relations and outreach.
Michael Netzer of Catonsville, Md. was named senior vice president for academic program development and outreach. He comes to the university after having served as academic dean with the Community College of Baltimore County and as adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County for the past 12 years.
Dick Pera of Washington, D.C. was named vice president and dean of the School of Security and Global Studies. He joined APUS as dean in July 2013 following a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy.
Dr. Chris Reynolds of Tampa, Fla. was named vice president of academic communications and outreach. He joined the University in April 2003 and has served as the program director for the Emergency & Disaster Management, Explosives and Ordinance Disposal, and Homeland Security programs and dean of the Center of Teaching and Learning.
