"Ranson and Charles Town have been involved in the Brownfields Commerce Quarter for over a decade or longer," said Andy Blake, Ranson's city manager. "We're trying to redevelop brownfields that straddle the two towns on George Street, Fairfax Boulevard and Mildred Street. Those efforts have resulted in millions of dollars in grants from the federal government and redevelopment of brownfields, including American Public University."
