APU Launches OnlineLearningTips.com
Charles Town, W.Va., December 1, 2010 — American Public University (APU) today launched OnlineLearningTips.com a sponsored resource portal and a companion Twitter feed, @tips4learning, designed to provide current and prospective students with knowledge, advice and resources on making the most of their online higher education experience.
“We place a premium on being a trusted education partner to our students, which means providing them with the resources they need to succeed in a dynamic online learning environment,” said Carol Gilbert, executive vice president, programs and marketing, for APU. “OnlineLearningTips.com is a comprehensive resource for all online students, regardless of where they are in their education. “Those just starting to consider an online degree can explore if distance learning is right for them and what to consider when evaluating online programs, including contacting an admissions counselor.”
OnlineLearningTips.com includes articles on university accreditation, checklists for prospective students, and self-assessments for online learning readiness. Those already enrolled in an online degree program will find tips on how they can become more productive and effective in their online classes and programs, and have the opportunity to connect and share information with other online learners.
The site includes a list of downloadable applications designed to keep students focused and productive in their online studies. It also provides informative videos, webcasts and podcasts featuring interviews with leaders in online education, students who are pursuing their degrees online, and other subject matter experts discussing a wide range of topics, from conducting research online to using an iPad and online libraries.
