APU to Host Live Webcast Featuring Best-selling Author Tony Horwitz on John Brown’s Harpers Ferry Raid and its Effects on the Civil War

Charles Town, WV – Oct. 20, 2011American Public University, part of American Public University System, will host a live Civil War webcast on Monday, October 31, 2011.  The program will feature Tony Horwitz, a New York Times best-selling author, who examines John Brown’s raid on Harpers Ferry in his latest book: Midnight Rising.  Horwitz will be joined by Harpers Ferry Chief Historian Dennis E.
