American Public University System’s ePress Releases Second Edition of The Big Yellow House
Charles Town, WV, September 11, 2013—American Public University System and the APUS ePress have announced the release of the second edition of The Big Yellow House on West Congress Street, written by Carl J. Post. The book charts the history of the building at 111 West Congress Street from its beginnings as a private home, through its service as a local hospital, to its present role as the headquarters for APUS.
The latest edition includes a foreword by Dr. Wallace E. Boston, APUS President and CEO, that describes the care with which the university has restored many of the historic buildings in Charles Town as well as efforts to develop green buildings throughout the town.
APUS will donate print and electronic copies to the Charles Town Library and the Jefferson County Historical Society. To celebrate the release, APUS ePress will host a public reception on Friday, September 20, from 4-6 p.m. at 111 West Congress St. A copy of the book will be raffled during the event.
