Golden Key International Honour Society has more than 360 chapters at colleges and universities in the United States, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, and South Africa. Membership into the Society is invitation-only and extended to the top 15% of students in all fields-of-study. APUS chartered with Golden Key in June 2008. Currently, the APUS Chapter of Golden Key has grown to over 4,400 new members since its inception in 2008. The Society offers its members over $500,000 (USD) annually through numerous scholarship and award programs. Members also have a connection to exclusive career opportunities and assistance through Golden Key's partnerships with major corporations and graduate programs. Golden Key also offers a number of internship and study abroad opportunities to its members. Students who are eligible will receive a Golden Key membership invitation in April and October from the Office of Student Affairs. If a student believes they are qualified for membership, but did not receive an invitation, the student should email studentaffairs@apus.edu during the months of April and October to request a membership application. Qualifying Criteria - Active AMU or APU student
- Completed a minimum of 12 semester hours with AMU or APU in their current program
- Completed at least one course at AMU and APU in the past six months
- Cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above
- Comply with AMU and APU policies on academic integrity in all classes, assignments, and interactions
- Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program
- Obtained an academic level of sophomore, junior, or senior (if at the bachelor's level)
- Alumni can join up to 12 months after their conferral date if they meet all eligibility requirements upon completion

Spring/Fall Inductees April 1/October 1: Applications and invitation letters are emailed to potential members by Golden Key headquarters.
