About the Faculty
Carol Passman earned her doctorate in counseling psychology at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Passman is board certified by the National Association of Certified Counselors, a member of the American Counseling Association, the Indiana Counseling Association, the American School Counseling Association, the Indiana School Counseling Association and the National Career Development Association.
Her professional experience has included serving as director of the MSED in School Counseling graduate program at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne Indiana. Prior to entering teaching full time in 2000, Dr. Passman taught part time and served as a full time college and university student development administrator for six years. As an assistant dean of students and director of counseling, she specialized in personal counseling, career counseling, student orientation and early alert programming. Her additional professional interests include adult mentoring and child literacy. Currently, she provides counseling and career development services to her local adult shelter, has served for three years on the board of the Anthony Wayne Area Council Learning for Life Program and is developing several children’s book manuscripts for publication. Dr. Passman grew up in a military family and completed all her undergraduate and graduate work as a non-traditional student with a teenage daughter. These experiences have given her a thorough understanding of the challenges associated with balancing family, work and academic life.
