Vice President, Dean, School of Business
Dr. L.A. Chad Patrizi is the vice president and dean for the School of Business at American Public University System. He joined APUS in June 2001 as the chair of the business, management, and information technology department and became the dean in 2009.
Dr. Patrizi comes to the university from the National Academy of Public Administration, where his experience encompassed a wide variety of public management, business research, and public policy analysis, to include analytical and publication contributions to publicly sponsored domestic and international studies. Domestically, Dr. Patrizi served as a research analyst focused on congressionally mandated studies including The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Park Service Construction Programs.
Dr. Patrizi’s international work included the USIA sponsored Public Administration Program in Central and Eastern Europe. The USIA program in the Republic of Georgia established the Institute of Public Administration and educates Georgian civil servants in public administration and management. He provided managerial oversight of the master’s level program; coordinated the annual academic schedule; and, served as a liaison between Ministers of Education, university officials, and the academy.
Prior to the National Academy of Public Administration, Dr. Patrizi participated in private industry, where he analyzed, managed, and developed corporate business strategies.
Dr. Patrizi holds a Ph.D. program in educational leadership with a concentration in e-learning from Touro University International. He also holds a Master of Public Administration and Policy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College).
