J.B. Tanner joined American Public University System (APUS) in 2009 and has been key in creating the Student Support Center, Workforce Management, Electronic Communications and Quality Assurance teams at APUS. He has over 15 years of experience in customer service, recruiting, and process improvement. He specializes in contact center management, analytics, customer engagement, and operations management. Mr. Tanner’s role at the university is to build student driven service solutions and improve the overall student experience.
Prior to joining APUS he gained experience in higher education, marketing, recruiting, HR, call center management and homebuilding. While working with Pulte Homes, Mr. Tanner earned four JD Power Awards for customer service and the only JD Power Platinum Customer Service award in the industry.
Mr. Tanner is a graduate of Shepherd University, where he double majored in Political Science and Economics. While attending Shepherd he was part of Shepherd Men’s tennis team, Lambda Chi Alpha and Vice President of the Student Council. He received his M.B.A. from American Public University.
