Vice President, Software Engineering
Mr. Scott Benham leads the university's Software Engineering organization and is responsible for design, development, integration, and support of the university's enterprise application platforms. Mr. Benham joined the university in 2012 as AVP for Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence and Reporting leading the transformation of the university's data warehouse and reporting capabilities to a modern self-service model. He later took over additional responsibility for the Application Development organization supporting student information system development and integrated applications.
Prior to joining APUS, Mr. Benham founded and ran Datacated Technology Partners, an information technology consulting and staffing startup supporting organizations including Freddie Mac, American Express, and Starwood Hotels. His earlier consulting experience included various lead and management roles at BearingPoint, GSK, KPMG, and Dell.
Mr. Benham has over 20 years of information technology experience including large-scale enterprise architecture and systems implementation, strategy development, software engineering, organizational transformation, data management and governance, platform migration, technology operations, and consulting. Prior to his career in information technology, Mr. Benham held various advisory and trading roles in the financial services industry.
Mr. Benham holds an MBA from the University of Nebraska - Omaha and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Veteran's Next Mission, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping our nation's veterans transition into civilian life by hiring and training them for trades in the construction industry.
