Dr. Kenneth Williams is a retired U.S. Army IT officer with 24 years of active service and seven years of federal service as a civilian for the U.S. Army. Dr. Williams operated a small business focused on IT/cybersecurity services with the federal government and commercial sectors for several years.

Dr. Kevin Harris is Program Director for Information Systems Security and Information Technology Management.  He also serves as the alternate Cyber Center Director. He has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology field with positions ranging from systems analyst to CIO.

Dr. Karen Paullet
Dr. Karen Paullet teaches the university’s cybersecurity courses. She has spent more than 13 years working with law enforcement preparing cases using digital evidence for trial, and has spoken at over 150 engagements on the Dangers of Social Network Sites, Cyberbullying, Cyberstalking and the CSI Effect.

Dr. Elliott Lynn is a business leader in the IT field with more than 20 years experience. He teaches adult education online and face-to-face in business, project management, and IT. His philosophy of education is to teach with an open mind to learn and encourage students to question the foundations and origins of the knowledge they seek.

Dr. David Andersson
Dr. David Andersson is a retired U.S. Army officer and an experienced educator in IT, management, and information systems security. His focus is on curriculum development, competency-based instruction, and teacher training. He teaches ISS courses at APUS, and previously worked as a network engineer for  Raytheon and Allstate Insurance.

Dennis Backherms is an experienced IT security professional with more than 17 years of experience. He is an expert in facilitating pre- and post-technical support through accurately assessing technical challenges and successfully transforming ideas into appropriate workable solutions. Bryan Bechard is an information security professional with business, risk management, and technical expertise. He currently manages security operations, governance, risk and compliance, and physical security as CISO for an auto finance company. He has developed information security bachelor’s programs and teaches ISS courses.

John Denson is an IT professional and businessman with 30 years experience in application development, production support and information security. His interest in information security began when he started an IT consultancy in 2001. He also worked with a start-up company that focused on small medical practices' HIPPA compliance.

Ken Desforges is currently the Director, Information Systems for the City of Diamond Bar in California. He teaches IT and cybersecurity at APUS. Ken is an accomplished executive with more than 18 years IT management experience in both the public and private sectors. His experience includes designing and implementing information security solutions.

Michael Esenwein is an instructor for the Defense Cyber Investigations Training Academy. He plays a key role in developing and delivering cyber training for Department of Defense personnel for them to successfully execute their missions around the world. He served 8 years in the U.S. Army as a tactical data systems specialist and intelligence analyst.

Tom Foss participates in the CyberWatch consortium, a National Science Foundation-funded project designed to help colleges prepare professionals for Information Assurance career paths. His practice areas include cybercrime trends, IT security, and the mitigation of cyber terrorism and hacking through active defense, planning, and education.

Kim Iannone teaches ISS courses for APUS and business computer courses for Touro University in Moscow. His previous work was as a systems programmer and network administrator and as a senior project manager selling, designing, building, and managing computer technology solutions.

Clifton Krahenbill
Clifton Kranhenbill owns and operates CLK Technology Solutions located in Tucson, Arizona, where he designs, builds and supports network infrastructure and security systems. He provides penetration-testing services for school districts, banks, credit unions, and government agencies. He began his IT career in 1998.

Edward Labarge
Edward LaBarge is the Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Army’s Computer Crime Investigative Unit (CCIU), Washington Metro Office. He oversees a team of criminal investigators who conduct complex investigations into a wide array of cybercrime such as network intrusions. He teaches network security and digital forensics at APUS.

Dr. Wenbin Luo
Dr. Wenbin Luo accolades include earning the 2001 Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the School of Engineering at the University of New Mexico and the 2008 Distinguished Faculty Award from St. Mary’s University. Dr. Luo is an active researcher in the areas of computer security, digital image processing, and hashing algorithms.

Mr. Musa is an authorized (ISC)² instructor with more than 25 years of experience in the IT, information assurance, and systems engineering fields. Currently, he serves as CISO for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission where he is responsible for the overall IT security and risk management program. He teaches ISS courses to undergraduate students.

Dr. Sang Nguyen has more than 20 years experience working in the U.S. government and is currently the Head of Information Technology and Cyber Security for Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach. He teaches cybersecurity courses for APUS and has consulted with numerous higher education organizations to develop cybersecurity certification programs.

Dr. Yongge Wang
Dr. Yongge Wang published cybersecurity research in 72 peer-reviewed publications. He is the inventor of Remote Password Authentication Protocol SRP5 (included in IEEE 1363.2 standards) and the identity-based authentication protocol WANG-KE (included in IEEE 1363.3 standards). He serves as the chief cryptographer and security officer for USMobile Inc.
