It was his passion for military life and connecting people that got Matt Peeling elected president of American Military University/American Public University’s chapter of the Student Veterans Association. Peeling, who at 47 earned his bachelor’s degree and is now pursuing an MBA, is a disabled veteran who retired from the Army reserves due to his injury. When he enrolled in college, he hunted around for fellow veteran students at the school and found some activity through social media like Facebook and LinkedIn. But there wasn’t much going on.
