Truckers Against Trafficking Group Drives Home Message

Since truckers are literally on the move across the nation, it was logical to get them involved in efforts to combat the growing human trafficking problem, said Kendis Paris, executive director of the nonprofit Truckers Against Trafficking group. Paris said it was also a no-brainer to bring the mobile exhibit to the Eastern Panhandle as part of this week's "Widening the Net: Together Let's Stop Traffick" summit, which ended Thursday after attracting more than 100 participants from the United States and abroad. As a result, it was parked in an American Public University parking lot that allowed participants to tour the display at their leisure, she said.
