Michelle Davis

EDUCATION
In 1996 Michelle Davis completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Business Administration from Governors State University. Michelle also earned a Master’s degree in Adult Education/Computer Education from University of Phoenix with an emphasis in information systems.

Michelle is presently completing her doctoral work in the field of Education Technology and e-Learning at Northcentral University. Her dissertation topic focuses on transforming a traditional work place training environment into a 100 percent distance learning training environment. With the success distance learning technology has had within the world of higher learning, creating work environments that allow individuals to work from home will allow corporations to grant access to the work place to everyone.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Michelle spent two years with the public school board and two years as a Computer Business Specialist Instructor for the following subjects Basic Programming, Cobol, Pascal, Introduction to Programming, DOS, HTML, and Introduction to Computers; Access, Lotus 123, Excel, Word and WordPerfect. Michelle also spent four years as a virtual corporate Trainer for the following companies AAA MidAtlantic, TeleFlora, AAA California and Apple. During her time in the corporate world, she was an Economic Self Sufficiency Specialist for the State of Florida.

From 2006 to the present, Michelle has taught in the college of education at the University of Phoenix, the college of general studies and business at Ashford University and Colorado Technical University, the college of computer science, business and education at Mohave Community College, and the college of adult and professional studies at Benedictine University, specifically management information systems using applications that include PeopleSoft, Elluminate, Centra7, WebCt, Blackboard and Angel. She is also a member of the World Association for Online Education and Association for Information Systems.

PRESENTATIONS AND INTERVIEWS
Michelle has participated in television interviews with CBS and UPN News on the topics "Work for a Major Company from Your Own Home" and "Working From Home as an Independent Contractor. Michelle has also been a presenter for Willowcsn in 2005 at a seminar focusing on how to successfully work from home for companies that outsource.

PERSONAL INTERESTS
Michelle lives in Cook County, Illinois. She focuses much of her time participating in public service events. She enjoys researching, helping students work toward achieving their career and personal goals.

Karen G Hand

Karen G Hand Professor Karen Hand has worked in the field of Information Technology for over 20 years. She began her IT career as a Communications and Computer Specialist in the U.S. Air Force from 1987-1991. She was stationed at Hahn Air Base in Germany and served in support of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Since serving in the military, Professor Hand has continued working in various areas of the Information Technology field, such as network administration, computer programming, software development, data warehousing, Web applications development, technical writing, and training development.

Professor Hand's previous jobs include a position as a technical writer and instructional designer for the Florida Department of Health, and a position as a computer research specialist at the Florida State University's Learning Systems Institute. At the Learning Systems Institute, she conducted research and development in the area of e-learning and human performance support. Ms. Hand previously taught for the Computer Science Department at the Florida State University from 1997-2000, where she was instrumental in developing Internet and Web programming courses. She also has experience teaching Computer Science to gifted high school students attending the Florida State University's Young Scholars Program.

Ms. Hand holds an M.S. in Computer and Information Science from the Florida State University, an M.S. in Instructional Systems with an emphasis in Open and Distance Learning from the Florida State University, a B.S. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Maryland, and an A.A.S. in Electronic Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. She is currently working on a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems at the Florida State University. She is an expert on Web language standards and accessibility standards. Her research interests include Web standards development, computer and Web accessibility for the disabled, distance learning, gifted education, performance support systems, and emerging technologies.

Professor Hand was the first recipient from the School of Business, Management, and Information Technology to be awarded the Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award by APUS, in 2007, the year this prestigious annual award was first offered.

Paul Haynes

Paul Haynes is an IT professional with over 18 years experience and led his software development team to 6 U.S. Patents. Mr. Haynes has worked on several U.S. federal and state contracts including the Departments of Defense and Transportation. Mr. Haynes is currently an IT Program Manager.
Mr. Haynes is an Adjunct Faculty at several Universities specializing in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics and Project Management disciplines.
Mr. Haynes volunteers as a Project Management and IT consultant to nonprofits and sports organizations in South America, Africa and the Caribbean equipping them to be transparent and self sustaining.
Mr. Haynes resides with his family in New Jersey and enjoys table tennis and competitive road cycling.

Charlie W Williams

My name is Charlie Williams. I live in Suffolk, Virginia. I am originally from Fort Valley, Georgia. I have a BS in Mathematics from Fort Valley State University.
I have almost 12 years experience in Information Technology including 10 years in Software Development for the federal government.
I also have 18 years of experience in Logistics including Inventory Management, Operation Management, and, Transportation Management. I have also taught various traditional and online courses.
I have an MBA from Nova Southeastern University which was
completed through online instruction.
