How do I apply for a faculty or staff position at APUS?

Visit the APUS Career Portal.  Once your find a position of interest you will need to complete an online presence (profile) and apply for the position.

How do I learn more about APUS?

Visit American Public University System, and it's two institutions, American Public University and American Military University.

Do I need a resume to apply?

All applicants are required to provide a Resume/CV in order to complete the online profile and application.

What if I have trouble submitting my online profile?

For a staff position please email [email protected], for a faculty position [email protected], and a recruiter will get back to you and assist you with any difficulties that you may be having. Please note that the system works best when using the Internet Explorer browser.

Where would I be working?

APUS has offices located in Charles Town, WV. The location for each position is listed in the job description. We also have a number of staff employees that work from remote locations, remote possibilities will also be noted in the job description.

How do I follow up after I have submitted an application?

If you have questions about the status of your application for a staff position, please email [email protected] or call our Job Hotline at 304-724-0916. How long does it take to review my resume and qualifications?

Your resume and online application will be reviewed by our staff recruiters within two weeks of your submission. If additional information is needed to process your application, you will be contacted within that time frame.

Can I email or mail my resume instead of applying online?

Unfortunately, no. All resumes must be submitted online through the online application process. This ensures that we receive all information necessary to further process your application and determine if you are a candidate for further screening.

If I am not selected for a position, how will I be notified?

If you are not selected for a position, you will be notified by email from our Recruiting Team. Please keep an eye on email spam folders as these email notifications may be misdirected depending on security settings within the accounts.

Do I need to submit separate applications if I am interested in more than one position?

If you are interested in more than one position with APUS, you must apply separately for each position. Your online presence can be saved, updated, and used for future applications. Make sure you save your username and password!

How often do new positions become available at APUS?

New positions become available frequently, check our Career Portal on a regular basis to ensure that you are aware of new positions that have been posted as well as positions that have been filled.
