The AI and the Future of Education invites educators and scholars to explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in postsecondary education. As AI continues to evolve, its impact on individual disciplines, student learning, faculty teaching, accessibility, and job preparedness remains a critical area of study and application. This conference serves as a platform to discuss innovations, challenges, and best practices related to AI in higher education.

Conference Themes

We welcome proposals that align with the conference theme and explore AI's potential in various higher education contexts. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

  • AI in Teaching: AI tools for course development, classroom management, gamification, discussions, and feedback, including discipline-specific integrations
  • AI in Learning: AI-powered tutoring, personalized learning, adaptive assessments, immersive learning, and assignment and study aids
  • AI and Student Support: AI-driven strategies for student retention, advising, analytics, and mental health support
  • Emerging Trends: The role of AI in shaping the future of education, including research and development, teacher training, and the transformation of the student experience
  • Ethical and Policy Considerations: AI tools and strategies that promote ethics and best practices in the field of education
  • Equity and Accessibility: AI tools and support to provide access to students with disabilities and from any marginalized group

Keynote Speaker

The keynote speaker will be Daniel Lopez, managing director at OneGoal and host of the long-running podcast “AI Education Conversation.” Lopez, who has been at the forefront of the conversation on AI impacts in education at every level, from K-12 through higher education, will discuss the possibilities of AI in reshaping classrooms, campuses and career readiness.

Lopez has interviewed high impact leaders across the education landscape including Erin Mote leader of InnovateEDU, Chris Agnew, Director of Generative AI for Education Hub at Standford University, and Emily Pacheco, founder of the AI in College Admissions Special Interest Group.

Other conference sessions will focus on the growing role of AI in higher education, including personalized learning, adaptive assessments, accessibility, student support, workforce preparation and ethical considerations.
