‘Caliph Ibrahim:’ The Man Responsible for ISIL's Headlines

“Our objective is clear: We will degrade, and ultimately destroy, ISIL through a comprehensive and sustained counterterrorism strategy,” President Obama said in his Sept. 10 address to the nation on US counterterrorism strategy. It’s the opinion of some intelligence analysts that the destruction of ISIL has become the focus of US counterterrorism strategy all because of one man who currently calls himself Caliph Ibrahim the First. He’s better known as Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the name he assumed upon taking over the ISI (Islamic State of Iraq). Before then, he was known to the Intelligence Community as Doctor Ibrahim or Abu Dua. Abu Dua has been working very hard for the past decade to get himself and his terrorist organization to exactly the level that President Obama just elevated them to.
