APUS Introduces Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice

Charles Town, W.Va., June 24, 2009American Public University System (APUS), has introduced a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensics to its growing degree programs in public safety. APUS also offers a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Criminal Justice through its member institutions American Public University and American Military University.An accredited, online, university system, APUS serves more than 45,000 working adults studying worldwide. It offers 74 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in an affordable and flexible format.  

The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensics program is designed for students who are seeking an in-depth scientific study of crime, criminal behavior, crime scene investigation theories, and the importance of scientific analysis as evidence presented in the criminal justice system.

Classes range from DNA in the Criminal Justice System to Fingerprint and Blood Spatter Analysis. Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to identify the basic methodological approaches to investigating criminal behavior, as well as interpret and apply various aspects of criminology, sociology, law, and political science as they relate to the American criminal justice system.

Making this degree more attainable, APUS is committed to keeping the cost of attendance low with an undergraduate tuition rate of $250/credit hour.  A university book grant provides textbooks at no cost for most undergraduate students.
