Acquisition to expand APUS nursing, health programs

American Public Education Inc., parent company of American Public University Systems, announced Thursday it has acquired National Education Seminars Inc., according to a press release. NESI operates as Hondros College, an Ohio-based nursing program. The program was acquired for about $46 million in cash, according to the press release. Dr. Wallace E. Boston, president and CEO of APEI, said the move will expand the organization's offerings in nursing, health care and public health.
"As an established school of nursing, Hondros College's nursing programs serve some of the critical education needs of our nation's health care industry," Boston said in a statement.
