When Will I Use That?

Students often wonder if and when they will be able to apply what they learn in class to their lives.  We often look for application opportunities in our careers but sometimes we can also find creative ways apply what we learn in college to our personal lives.

When I became a mother, I found a new appreciation for interesting things I learned in anthropology and biology courses.  While pregnant, I found myself thinking a lot about how the human pelvis has been shaped by walking upright, creating unique childbirth stresses, the "obstetric dilemma" for humans.   Labor and delivery is not quite so long and laborious in other species.
